If you’ve read my previous blogs about funeral plans you will probably have an understanding of what they are, the services they cover and what to look out for when choosing the best funeral plans but with a number of market leading companies all competing for the title of top funeral plan provider, which company do you choose?

This article was updated on 14th November 2014.

To help you pick the best of the bunch, over the next few weeks I will be writing a series of funeral plans reviews covering prepaid plans from the UKs leading providers.
Focusing on a different supplier each week, I will be looking at their individual funeral plan pros and cons, how they differ from their competitors, pricing, services included and any other gems I think you need to be aware of. This will include plans from;

Of course if you have any questions on any of the providers or would like us to review another company’s funeral plans, please let us know.
The demand for funeral plans looks to be increasing which hopefully is a sign that as a nation we are starting to become more open and active about including funeral planning as part of our ongoing financial planning arrangements. In fact according to the Funeral Planning Authority, sales of prepaid funeral plans were at record levels in the first half of 2014.
In what has historically been a very staid, traditional and some may say conservative industry, changes have been few and far between. I am glad to say that finally things are starting to shift and the funeral planning community are at long last gearing themselves up to meet the demands of the 21st century.
Increasing sales, greater accessibility through online applications and an overall increase in competition, in addition to the surge in demand due to our ageing nation and spiraling funeral costs will inevitably lead to new offerings. This can already be seen with the addition of new and alternative payment options introduced by a number of companies trying to make plans more affordable and appealing to a range of budgets.

The Funeral Plan Review is your final piece of the jigsaw. Whilst plans are similar, there are subtle differences which can impact your wallet and the services you receive so it pays to have all the information before making that final choice.
