When it comes to over 50 life insurance Martin Lewis doesn’t mince his words. It’s fair to say that the renowned ‘moneysavingexpert’ is rather scathing but it is worth pointing out that like other comparison companies such as Moneysupermarket, Go Compare and Confused.com, Mr Lewis does still sell this type of guaranteed acceptance plan on his website.

It’s good to see more people are coming to terms with the prospect of planning their funeral in advance with a funeral plan but there is obviously still some confusion over certain aspects; be it with the actual funeral plans themselves or funeral planning in general
I have written many blogs and articles over the years about Over 50 plans, from choosing the best over 50 life insurance plan to how to get more life insurance cover for your money but more recently there have been a number of changes to certain plans which I thought were worth talking about.

Shocking research from Royal London shows people who go in to residential care could face bills from £50,000 to £93,000 at the end of their life.
Only a shocking 16% of Brits aged 45 and above have a prepaid funeral plan in place. And those without a funeral plan don’t realise how affordable a plan could be and how easy it is to set one up.

For anyone much over the age of say 40-45, the idea of constantly changing energy suppliers still seems strange. Many of us can remember when the energy suppliers were nationalised and market choice was limited to non-existent
There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ in terms of which approach you adopt. Just be clear as to what advice you’re getting, ensure that it’s from a highly qualified and reputable source
